Our consulting services are designed to help you navigate the complexities of using computational methods to study human behavior and society. With decades of experience implementing cutting-edge research across disciplines and internationally, we have seen and done the work behind the scenes that makes it possible.
When you work with BRIC, you also get a suite of open-source software tools, frameworks, and best practices that we have developed and made available to the research community. With this deep knowledge of the existing open-source work (our own and that of others), we can often adapt tested technologies to realize an innovative new project, saving time and money.
We have also developed technologies and best practices that solve the unexpected problems that computational research projects have overcome. While new challenges constantly arise, many 'old' challenges are little known in the social science research community and continue to have detrimental impacts on research projects. Beyond technology challenges, we have experience with compliance globally, from IRB to GDPR to HIPPA and state-level regulations.
Our Working Style
We work with faculty members from new assistant professors to full professors with large funded labs around the globe. We also work with other nonprofit research organizations.
Our projects range in scope from figuring out how to collect data from an entirely new type of device (e.g., VR, dashcam) to developing a custom App for Android, IOS, and the web, to adding a new capability to an existing framework (e.g., adding LLM conversation and moderation to the Automated Conversation Kit).
We have also found that many of our clients who develop innovative data collection methods need assistance navigating the complexities of participant recruitment from fraud detection to multiple vendors or advertising runs and payment systems. We now also offer recruitment management services either in an advisory capacity or to fully manage the process for you.
The earlier we are involved in a project, the more help we can provide, as a service provider or as a co-PI for methodological research.
